Makerspace & Robotics Exploration Camp

This exciting two-week camp will stimulate the mind of your young creator

Campers spend the morning participating in Makerspace and Robotics Camp, and the afternoon is filled with the same activity choices as Activity Camp.

Makerspace Exploration and Creation - week 1

Explore the Maker World! This week, campers will learn about the devices in The Roeper School Lower School Makerspace (3D Printers, Cricut Maker, Sewing Machine, and Woodworking). Daily, campers will work to learn about the machines and related software while completing creative projects using the machines.

Robotics Exploration - week 2

Grow your robot-building, driving, and programming skills! During the week, we will explore VEX robotics programming, driving, building, and teamwork to solve a variety of challenges. The campers will work collaboratively to troubleshoot and investigate the limits of the robots using different graphical programming sequences, sensors, and building designs.

Makerspace & Robotics Exploration is only offered in session 3

Makerspace Exploration and Creation and Robotics Exploration are led by The Roeper School science teacher WENDY MAYER. Wendy holds an Associate’s Degree from Schoolcraft College, a Bachelor’s Degree (summa cum laude) in Psychology, and a Master’s Degree in Science Education from Wayne State University. She has been teaching for 25 years and is currently the Technology Integration Teacher, Makerspace, and Robotics, and is the coach of the Roeper Robotics team.
