Baseball Camp

For children currently in Grade 2 through age 12

Baseball Fields provided by

Baseball Camp is for all levels of players (boys and girls), from those who have never worn a mitt to those with experience. Campers work on both the technical and strategic aspects of baseball, as well as playing games and having fun in a fun environment. This camp will focus on improving the basic fundamentals of baseball - hitting, throwing, fielding, and baserunning. For those players who are interested, there is the option to work on pitching and catching. Campers will partake in drills and play games that are meant to improve these skills.

The Baseball Camp will use the softball field and batting cages at North Hills Middle School, compliments of the Bloomfield Baseball League.  It is recommended that campers have a mitt and a helmet for the Baseball portion of the day. Cleats are recommended but optional. Baseball bats and balls will be provided for use by the camp.

Campers are dropped off at the Roeper Bloomfield Hills campus between 8:00 - 8:30 am and will travel by bus to the field to participate in the sports camp. Campers will return to the campus in time to stow their baseball gear in their homeroom and choose a 4th block activity from the Activity Camp grid. They will then enjoy lunch and recess before participating in the same activity choices as Activity Camp for blocks 5 and 6.

Baseball Camp is offered only in sessions 1 and 2

Baseball Camp is being coached by Lucas Bagne. Lucas is a passionate and experienced baseball player dedicated to developing players on and off the field—a proud Roeper School alumnus and member of the winning MIAC Red Division Conference Championship Roeper Baseball team. Lucas owns and runs Backyard Baseball Training, a personal coaching company that specializes in coaching children ages 6-13. Lucas has coached multiple teams in the Bloomfield Baseball League. Lucas wants to share his love of the sport and develop future players.

The Bloomfield Baseball League is supplying a field for camp use.  Roeper has been affiliated with the Bloomfield Baseball League for years.  The BBL forms teams based on grade or age and does its best to place boys and girls from the same school on the same team so that they can play with their friends.  It offers spring and summer recreational baseball and travel programs.  Spring season registration is currently open for Pre-K through sixth grade recreational players.  Games start in April and end in early June.  The BBL plays on Bloomfield Schools and West Bloomfield Recreation Department fields but is open to all kids outside those specific areas.  Click here for more information on the Bloomfield Baseball League Spring Season and to register.
